Navarra is a small DO in the far north of Spain, nestling in the foothills of the Pyrenees, north-east of Rioja. This wine is the only 100% varietal Cabernet Sauvignon produced in the region, and comes from vines averaging 20 years old, grown on south-west-facing slopes. An expressive nose of cassis, black cherry and liquorice with smoky, toasty oak notes. The tannins are well integrated and smooth, giving this otherwise intense wine an accessible nature. Easy to drink on its own, but benefits from partnering with grilled or roasted red meat, or a rack of ribs.
