From the upper Douro valley comes this intriguing red DOC, equivalent of the French AC. Essentially a dry, light port, it is made from a blend of local grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional. A deep plummy red with ripe black fruit characteristics, herbs and spices with unmistakable aromas of fresh earth. Best enjoyed with full-flavoured meat dishes.
