Marqués de Riscal, pioneer in the production of top quality wines in Rioja, embarked on a venture to produce a high quality red outside the Rioja D.O. Produced from grapes grown in the Toro and and San Román de Hornija sub-region's gritty, alluvial soils. Aromas of ripe red fruit, chocolate, pepper and smoke. Crisp and fruity, exhibiting red berries and earthen characters with well-rounded tannins, moderate acidity and a long, pleasant finish.
