This is a cool climate Syrah, grown high up in the Sonoma Valley, influenced by the cool marine air blowing in from the Pacific. These growing conditions produce wines more in line with the Northern Rhône style than Aussie Shiraz. Displaying the wild gamey side of Syrah rather than generous, jammy fruit. It will reward cellaring but even now it is an interesting wine with plenty of personality.
