This superb Gewürztraminer comes from the sloped vineyards of a 12th century castle in Kurtatsch, Alto Adige. Now more commonly found in Alsace, Gewürztraminer actually has its origins in this mountainous region, where Italy meets Austria and Switzerland. Complex aromas of honey, ginger, tropical fruit and cake spices fill the nose. The palate is just as diverse, with apricot and lychee fruit, delicate viscosity and a brooding peppery note on the finish. A stunning partner for foie gras, gorgonzola, or spiced seafood.
